Logistics and Supply Chain Modelling

Phil spent 12 years at Exel Logistics, where his responsibilities included modelling distribution strategy, improving existing distribution operations and supporting proposals for new business development. He then joined KPMG Management Consulting, carrying out assignments for leading contract distribution companies, retailers and manufacturers, including logistics strategy reviews, litigation support and due diligence investigations.

Phil became a director of Logistech in 1994. He has been using Network Designer on a wide range of projects since 1997, including complex pan European networks, and conducts Network Designer training courses in the UK. He has been a hands-on user of Paragon for over 15 years.

Peter Gordon

After starting his career in aviation, Peter joined Exel Logistics and held various positions including the management of a large distribution centre for Argos. He then joined Express Foods, running one of their operations, then became logistics manager for one of their dairy companies. During that time he developed an innovative approach to delivery cost modelling.

He set up Logistech in 1991 and is still a director, as well as carrying out other related business activities. He uses Network Designer on projects in Europe, the USA and Asia, and conducts training courses. He has recently taken a particular interest in the development of an emissions modelling capability, which has now been incorporated into Network Designer.

Jon Hopkinson

Jon completed a masters degree in distribution and joined Touche Ross Planned Warehousing in 1988. He was involved in many projects covering logistics strategy, operational methods, warehouse strategy, IT strategy and contracting out distribution. During this period he gained extensive experience in transport modelling techniques, spreadsheet modelling and database analysis.

Jon has worked with Logistech since 1994 and has carried out assignments for major retailers, manufacturers and contract distribution companies on the continent and in the UK, many of which included transport planning using Paragon software. He is also an experienced user of Network Designer and an accredited trainer.

Geoff McGuire

Geoff started his career with Rover Group in production planning and management, culminating in responsibility for layout design and material handling. He then had 15 years experience with MMM Consultancy Group and Kurt Salmon Associates, carrying out assignments for manufacturers, retailers and the public sector. His projects included supply chain strategy development, warehouse design, transport modelling and business process reviews.

Geoff has been working with Logistech since 2004, and is skilled in using Paragon and Network Designer. He has carried out a number of fleet sizing projects, modelling such diverse operations as prisoner movements, white goods and liquid tankers. He has also worked with contract distribution companies on operational reviews and responses to tenders.
