Supply chain modelling using world leading software
We have carried out a number of depot location reviews for parcel and courier companies, in both B2B and B2C sectors.
In this study we developed the national depot strategy for a major home delivery company. We produced a model of the current delivery operations using the Paragon route planning system and used it to address some tactical issues as well as deriving a generic delivery costs table.
We then built a model with the Infor Network Design software which traded off trunking, delivery and depot costs while considering site capacities. A number of optimisations were carried out, considering different capacity scenarios and locking specified sites open.
