Supply chain modelling using world leading software

A European manufacturer of engineering products wanted to review their production and distribution strategy. Production was located in Switzerland and Austria, with some to be relocated to Eastern Europe.

The project used the Infor Network Design tool to determine which product groups should be manufactured in which locations, and where new distribution centres should be located. Stock was maintained in some markets for service reasons, while other markets were served from the DCs.  An increased use of automation at the DCs was also investigated.
